Here are some working solutions from the FM2013 community:
- If you can get to the start screen, then go to Preferences (bottom left). The second box down on the left has a dropdown called Interface Rendering Mode, change it to Software (from GPU Assisted).
- You can use ALT+SHIFT+F10 to toggle GPU Rendering on/off as well.

Switch of Avira, AVG, and Avast, as their realtime protection interrupts with launching Football Manager 2013. If you want to take the extra step, turn off all your other running background programs as well (this includes your open web browsers).
