Facebook Servers or Networked Crashed: Facebook is Down Worldwide

Either Facebook servers or its network crashed Thursday morning, causing global outage for the earth’s largest social network. Facebook is down.

If you try to log on to Facebook right now, you will get this message:

Facebook is Down
Yes, the copyright still says 2013. They’re down from the past.

According to IBTimes:

Twitter users around the world have reported that the service is offline in a range of countries including the US, UK and France.

The Facebook apps for iOS and Android are also unavailable, suggesting the issue is to do with Facebook’s servers.

Ironically, in the semi-fictionalised account of Facebook’s creation, Mark Zuckerberg is hear telling his co-founder Eduardo Saverin:

“Okay, let me tell you the difference between Facebook and everybody else; we don’t crash, ever! If the servers are down for even a day our entire reputation is irreversibly destroyed.”

IBTimes UK has been in touch with Facebook for a comment to see why Facebook is down but have so far not received a reply.

What do we do when the service giant simply says: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”?

Well, we just wait.
